Junior Kindergarten
Junior Kindergarten is the first year of preschool education (PRE). To successfully complete Junior Kindergarten, students should complete six courses (i.e, arts, English, health and physical education, mathematics, science and social studies) as part of the Ontario school board requirement. Further, students should take five courses (i.e, cognitive skill development, computer literacy, native language and culture, religion and sustainable environment) as part of the NIST Hybrid Curriculum (NHC). Therefore, full-time students should register all courses for the academic year [First semester + Second semester]. Part-time students are allowed to register for a minimum of two courses per semester.
This program is periodically assessed by the ministry of education, Ontario, Canada. The primary purpose of assessment and evaluation is to improve student learning. Therefore, NIST follows the ministry of education guidelines, “Growing Success – Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting in Ontario Schools (2010)” to ensure the highest level of quality education for our children.
