About Course

CSD-06: Cognitive Skill Development

This course is designed for Grade 6 students to teach Cognitive development skills by addressing the formal operational stage at age 11 year. Children at this age are able to demonstrate abstract thinking. For example, they can understand shades of grey, wrestle with abstract concepts like love or justice, and formulate values based on thinking and analysing as opposed to only by feeling or experiencing.

What Will You Learn?

  • Cognitive development means how children think, explore and figure things out. It is the development of knowledge, skills, problem solving and dispositions, which help children to think about and understand the world around them. Brain development is part of cognitive development.
